Who we are and what we do
Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise charity. Together, we are building a connected world of young people, business volunteers and educators, inspiring each other to succeed through enterprise.
Young Enterpriseruns a number of business education programmes through the support of local and national business and the Government.
Over 320,000 students a year from more than 5,500 schools take part in Young Enterprise schemes, with the help of over 11,500 business volunteers.
In West Berkshire the flagship programme is the Company Programme. This involves 16-18 year old pupils setting up and running their own business for one academic year. This year there are 24 companies running, with around 300 students taking part.
The students get to learn about company finance, marketing, sales, manufacturing, IT, market research and personnel. They also develop their teamwork, presentation, organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
